Daniel Starts Kindergarten

Our great nephew Daniel started Kindergarten today. What a handsome young man he is. We can't believe how quickly he has grown up! Brian and Kathy must be even more proud than Daniel is. We are so proud of him!

Ava Update

With only 4 days left until we meet together in Nashville, we got some new pictures of Ava. We can't help ourselves...we have to post them! What a neat family, and a beautiful young lady!

Daddy doesn't know that I'm already considering what to buy on our next shopping trip.
If I could just get that right arm out of the way!!
Wow! This is fun!!
My mommy and I are really great together!
I'm such a ham! I can't help it if I'm so beautiful... Sigh..

Mommy and Daddy took me to Lake Oswego last weekend to a friend's house. I didn't like the water much, but I liked being held!
Daddy went tubing. He was really good at it.
I hope he didn't hurt himself... Isn't he supposed to be facing this way??

Gotta go now. It's time for my nap.

Only one week!

Just one week until we meet the parents and grandchildren for the weekend together in Nashville. Since most of us haven't ever been there, the location will be fun. But getting all of the grandchildren together for the first time will be a ball! So far it looks like the weather will be very nice. We are staying in the J. Percy Priest lake area. We don't know what we will be doing, since we can't predict the babies' feeding and sleep schedules. But here are some of the attractions that we may take in.

Kathryn and Parker's Wedding

Ellen and Carl sent out a few pictures from Kathryn and Parker's wedding last weekend. From the looks of the pictures, everyone there got their turn to hold Campbell. We don't have a picture of the bride and groom, but here are some of the pictures we liked best.

Mommy, Grandchee and Papette with Campbell. Four generations in this picture.
Grandchee gets her turn and is obviously enjoying it, of course!
Mommy and Daddy are very proud parents! They have every right to be!!!

And some pictures showing how everyone wanted to hold Campbell...

Finally, it's Papa's turn!

Hannah Update

Kara just sent us an update on Hannah. In her words, " H had her 2 mo. well baby today. 10lbs. 5 oz (40th%).; 23.25 in. (75th%). She had 5 shots (not too happy), and J was very concerned. He kept saying, "it's ok baby! Papees?! (which means paci) Too cute. We just got home and J is passed out, while H is up and ready to eat!"

It sounds like our little Joseph had a tough time taking care of his baby sister. We wish we could hug them both!

Hannah and Joseph

We just received these new pictures from Kara and Brandon. What a beautiful family! We are so excited about seeing them again in just 10 days!

Brandon looks content and happy. Joseph looks mesmerized. Hannah looks like she is ready to get up and go play by herself!
Hannah has a great smile! I think that Miss June is going to wrap us all around her little finger.
OK Daddy. I'm ready to go help work. How about if we fix the laundry closet? By the way, I put on my own shoes!

Charles Jacob

My old roomie from USNA, Dennis, just had another grandchild. His daughter Laura had a second son, Charles Jacob on Aug 16. He weighed 8 lb 6 oz and was 21-1/4 inches long. He was born at 2:47 am. All of these pictures were taken on the day he was born. I'm sure that Dennis and Nancy are thrilled.

Resting comfortably.
Dennis thinks he looks like his great, great grandfather, Pop Marsh. I think he has a very strong resemblance to his grandfather, Dennis.
Laura, Will and Jake. This reminds me so much of Kara, Joseph and Hannah. Laura looks great.
Time to rest.

Kristen and kids in Massanutten

Our niece Kristen and the kids went to Massanutten for a vacation. Linh was in Europe working and couldn't join them. They certainly had a beautiful view.

Connor took, this terrific picture of his mom, Riley and Darcy.

Connor and Darcy. What a lucky sister!
Riley, how can I touch you?
It is great to have a big brother to help when you need to climb on tall things.

River house friends

We spent the weekend at the river house last weekend and had fun watching a bunch of our friends.

The ducks
Our friendly squirrel.
The hawks..
And of course the seagulls.
Time to race off.

The fox

What is that in the backyard?
It's a fox. Joyce saw this in that backyard last week. She was brave and went out onto the porch to take his picture.
What a ham!
Nice profile. I guess he just wanted his picture taken.
